Wisconsin DOT Construction Project Updates
Phase3 Closes US 51 from Church Street to Fifth Street is scheduled to start THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH.
Phase 3 is tentatively scheduled for a mid-November completion. The Wisconsin DOT provides pedestrian access to all businesses within the construction area.
The intersection of County Hwy N and Hwy 51 will remain open to north and south-bound traffic through the duration of the project.
The estimated completion date is now November 26th. The elements projected to be completed by that date, including opening the road to traffic for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Saturday Shopping, are the roadway, curb/gutter, and sidewalks.
The pilings for the retaining wall will be completed this year. The balance of that project will be completed in 2026. The wall poured around the pilings has estimated completion timeline of 6-7 weeks in Spring 2026. The Department of Public Works and the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce continue to advocate for Stoughton and those impacted by the construction.
