The beautiful city of Stoughton, WI is home to several public parks, hiking trails, beaches and more. If you're in the mood to relax on a Wisconsin beach, Troll Beach is the place for you with clean city water, zero depth entry and a fully rebuilt concession stand. Here for an adventure? Hike or bike along the hiking trails of the Yahara River Trail System or the Virgin Lake Trail. Stoughton also has a beautiful wellness and athletic center serving local residents as well as guests visiting Stoughton and looking for a great gym for the day.

Lake Kegonsa State Park

Located just north of Stoughton, Lake Kegonsa State Park offers several hiking trails that traverse the park's scenic woodlands, prairies, and shoreline. The Ice Age Trail, a National Scenic Trail, also passes through the park, providing opportunities for longer hikes and backpacking adventures.

Yahara River Trail

 The Stoughton Recreation Trail is a multi-use trail that follows the route of a former railroad corridor, offering scenic views of the countryside and connecting various neighborhoods and parks within Stoughton. The trail is paved and suitable for walking, jogging, biking, and rollerblading.

Viking County Park

Viking County Park is located on the Yahara River downstream of Lake Kegonsa. The park has many accessible locations for shore fishing. In addition, the park offers a small reservable picnic shelter (non-electric), a fenced dog exercise area including two dog beaches, and ideal areas for family outings. This park also has a trail that connects the park to nearby City of Stoughton.
